The Counselling Process
What to Expect
We understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming
or unfamiliar. Knowing what to expect ahead of time can help
ease uncertainty and make the process feel more approachable.
Booking Your Appointment
All appointments are scheduled through our secure platform, Jane App. If you’re a first-time client, you’ll be prompted to create an account and complete a short intake form prior to your first session. Please note that a credit card is required to be kept on file for billing purposes, though no charges are made until your session.
Free 15-Minute Consultation
If you’ve scheduled a complimentary 15-minute consultation, this is a space for you to ask questions, learn more about our approach, and get a sense of whether we’re the right fit for you. There’s absolutely no pressure to commit — we want you to feel comfortable in your choice of therapist.
Session Format
Most sessions are held virtually to offer flexibility and accessibility. Rest assured, your therapist will always be in a private, confidential space when meeting with you online. In-person sessions are offered at 34334 Forrest Terrace, Abbotsford.
For those engaging in walk and talk therapy in Mission, we’ll begin with a short virtual meeting to confirm the location and to discuss how this format differs from in-office or online sessions. We want you to feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Your First Session
In our first full session, we’ll go over confidentiality and its limitations in detail. We’ll also take time to get to know you, build a foundation of trust and safety, and explore what you're hoping to gain from therapy. This is your space, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
Over the Course of Therapy
After your initial session, therapy becomes a collaborative process. Together we explore themes that matter to you, set meaningful goals, apply strategies that support growth and resilience, and revisit progress regularly to make sure the work feels useful and tailored to your needs.
