Rooted in Nature, Inspired by Resilience

The name Hemlock & Haven is inspired by the Eastern Hemlock, a tree known for its quiet strength and ability to thrive in rocky terrain. Beneath its canopy, the forest feels rooted — shaded, calm, and quietly held — much like the environment we aim to foster in our practice. A haven offers rest and refuge — a steady place where healing unfolds gently, in its own time.

                            Who We Support

We support first responders and adults navigating a

wide range of experiences, including: trauma, PTSD,

occupational stress, moral injury, and grief and shame.

Our work offers practical support and is rooted in empathy,

curiosity, and respect for each person's unique story.

Evidence-Based, Human-Centred Care

We draw on evidence-based practices including:

  • person-centred therapy,

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • attachment,

  • polyvagal,

  • cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT),

  • motivational interviewing,

  • mindfulness,

  • strengths-based and attachment- based approaches

All of this is offered through the lens of a warm, authentic human connection with the purpose of reducing intensity of trauma responses and promoting a sense of balance in your every day life.

At Hemlock & Haven Therapy, we believe that healing begins when you feel truly seen and supported. Wherever you are on your journey, we’re here to walk alongside you — with care, presence, and purpose.

We humbly acknowledge that British Columbia is situated on the traditional unceded territories of almost 200 distinct First Nations.

We recognize that Indigenous traditions, knowledge, and languages have been deeply damaged by the ongoing colonization of Indigenous Peoples and actively work to deepen our understandings, repair harm, and decolonize our practice.
